Tell us a little bit about your career so far.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a leading company in location intelligence and navigation and developed a liking for workflow modelling and infrastructure design, which formed the core of my responsibilities at my previous workplace.
My role encompassed evaluating the feasibility of various data sources for ingestion, enhancing existing models, and optimizing pipeline deployment. I’ve gained valuable experience collaborating with multicultural and international teams both during my education and professional journey.
Additionally, following my academic pursuits, I worked on a brief independent project with my friends centred on a plant health monitoring application using SAR imageries.
What do you like most about your new job so far?
What I find interesting in my current role is the growth and development of our team as we work to provide innovative solutions for our geospatial department. The culture within the team encourages the introduction of fresh ideas and welcomes constructive suggestions. Our team’s structure enables us to swiftly test and evaluate new solutions, facilitating informed decisions regarding their integration into our existing models.
What do you bring to the team?
Drawing from my educational background in Urban Planning and Geoinformatics with practical expertise in Data Engineering and Workflow development, I possess a unique skill set for data processing and analytics. I’m dedicated to optimizing and streamlining our processes to enhance the efficiency of our geospatial products. Most importantly, my commitment to innovation and continuous improvement drives me to keep exploring new tools and technologies.
What are you looking forward to most?
Looking ahead, I’m eager to leverage my previous experience in workflow creation and automation to support our geospatial team. I’m also enthusiastic about promoting the adoption of Free and Open-source solutions within our team to reduce reliance on specific tools. Furthermore, I’m committed to contributing to the development of reproducible and robust models for our current operational processes.
What interests you outside of work?
Outside of the professional sphere, I’m a huge enthusiast of sports, music, and indie cinema. I regularly engage in table tennis which I thoroughly enjoy. My liking for Bayern Munich over the past 13 years is rooted in their dominant playing style. I closely follow UFC, particularly appreciating the unique combat styles of athletes like Adesanya, Anderson Silva, and Gilbert Burns. I have a strong affinity for progressive metal bands such as DT and Opeth, as well as instrumental virtuosos like Vai, Satriani, and Buckethead.
